Should I replace my boiler?
Cut your heating bills by up to 33%
If your boiler is over 10 years old you can expect to make significant savings by changing to a condensing boiler
A guide to boilers
A condensing boiler is the most energy efficient way of heating your home. Anyone using a conventional boiler can expect it to convert around 60% of fuel consumed into useful heat. Condensing boilers raise this figure to over 90%. This higher operating efficiency means much lower bills and much lower CO2 emissions. The Energy Savings Trust reckon that changing from an old style boiler to new energy efficient condensing boiler will immediately cut you heating bills by around 33%. All our boilers and controls will be supplied with an ErP label as a guide to their energy efficiency.
The three types of condensing boilers available are called regular, system and combi (combination). Condensing boilers can use gas, LPG or oil. Regular and system condensing boilers need a hot water cylinder to store heated water. Combination boilers dispense with the hot water cylinder to give you instant hot water at mains pressure, as and when you need it.
